My grandfather came to the United States in 1904 from Germany and moved into Menard County. His wife and family came in 1911. My father loved music and was able to bring his accordion and would play for the family. I learned to Polka at an early age.

I joined the POLK of A in 1984 when Jim Bell was the President of the Klub.
I love the fellowship of the Klub.

Life long polka dancer and daughter of the late John (Ed) Krofchick Polka Band. I was raised with the sound of polka music in the house and continue to enjoy it. I have been a member since 1996 and have previously served as Vice President.

I have been a member of the Illinois Chapter of POLK of A sinc 1987 and held the Membership Secretary position previously for 5 years in the mid-90's.

Having been born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota where dancing is so much a part of socializing and entertainment and being born from Austrian immigrants, I have always loved to dance, as I say, "it's in my blood."

I have been a member since 1996 and have been a big fan of polka music as well as dancing and enjoying the family atmosphere that we have here. I was a board member from April 2002 until becoming Treasurer in April of 2004.

Being a professional musician myself I appreciate the talent that we have at every dance. Playing solo piano as well as having a jazz trio I never get tired of the gift of music.

After attending the Chapter Polka dances for many years, we joined the P.O.L.K. of A. Chapter in 1991. My wife, Ella, and I served as King and Queen in 94-95. I have served as Director in 93-96-97- and 98, and am presently serving as a Director as Chairman of the Dance Committee, organized and led bus tripis to many out of state polka festivals, and Ella and I have been members of the Demonstration Team for ten years, bringing entertainment to the ill and elderly.

Janice and her husband Roger joined the Polka club in 2004. They brought Roger's dad "Fibber McKee" to the dances and he encouraged us to join. We have enjoyed the group as they are all friendly.
